Relay for Life at Case Western Reserve University

Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back.

The nationwide theme of Relay For Life events in 2008 is "Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back."

This theme takes on a year-round mentality, encouraging participants to celebrate survivors throughout the year and remember those we've lost to the disease all while we are actively fighting back.

The theme also stretches to encompass the three major ceremonies conducted during each Relay For Life event. To view information about each corresponding ceremony, read to the right.

Corresponding Ceremony
    · "Celebrate" is the theme for the Opening Ceremony and Survivors Lap. It is at this time when all participants can rally around our survivors, and celebrate that they are with us to Relay. This also serves as an opportunity to celebrate coming together as a community in the fight against cancer.
We Can Celebrate
  • Thank survivors for their courage and example year-round.
  • Visit Hope Lodges where patients are currently battling cancer.
  • Bring attention to the Congressional Cancer Promise.
  • Learn about resources available for patients and survivors through the American Cancer Society.
